McDermott & Bull Expands into the Denver Metro Area with Appointment of Theron Makley to the Position of Principal Consultant

IRVINE, California and DENVER, Colorado, October 26, 2016 McDermott & Bull, the 29th largest executive search firm in the Americas and the fastest-growing firm within the Hunt Scanlon Top 50 Recruiters list, announced today the hiring of Theron Makley as Principal Consultant.  Makley’s practice will focus on serving technology clients in the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy sectors, as well as companies looking to expand the sustainability expertise of their executive teams.  Additionally, Makley’s appointment extends McDermott & Bull’s reach further east into the Denver and surrounding Front Range areas, including Boulder, Fort Collins, and Colorado Springs.

Prior to joining McDermott & Bull, Makley’s dynamic career saw him tackling areas such as technical sales, marketing, and executive management in the worlds of electronics, energy efficiency, and solid-state lighting.  Most recently, Makley was Executive VP of Sales and Marketing at ONCE, Inc., a world leader in agricultural LED lighting.  Previously, Makley headed the Marketing and Technical Sales teams at Seoul Semiconductor.  Makley moved to Denver in 2006 when Arrow Electronics brought him on as the Director of their North American Field Application Engineering team.  Prior to Arrow, Makley worked at several semiconductor companies, including Texas Instruments, Fairchild, and Wyle Electronics.

Makley has an MBA from the University of South Florida, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.

McDermott & Bull Places Director of Inventory & Supply Chain Management at MHT Luxury Alloys

IRVINE, California, October 24, 2016 – McDermott & Bull, the 29th largest executive search firm in the Americas and the fastest-growing firm within the Hunt Scanlon Top 50 Recruiters list, is proud to announce the successful appointment of Ernie Turrieta as Director of Inventory & Supply Chain Management with MHT Luxury Alloys, a designer, manufacturer, marketer and distributer of industry leading aftermarket custom wheel brands.

This executive recruiting engagement was conducted by Chris Bull, Co-Founder and Partner; Rob Gross, Associate Principal Consultant; and Trey Mullen, Recruiting Associate at McDermott & Bull.  According to Bull, “Ernie is one of those functional leaders whose first impression leaves you knowing he has what it takes to get the job done.  His energy and relevant experience will serve him and MHT well as he moves along in his career with the company.”

Turrieta has had a successful career in warehouse leadership, where he started as a box stacker at Frito Lay over thirteen years ago.  He moved into a customer service representative role within the company shortly thereafter, and ended his tenure with a ten-year run in a warehouse lead operations role.  Turrieta then joined Nestle as a Supervisor, and was quickly promoted to a specialty leadership position on the Operations Excellence Team.  In this role, Turrieta was tasked with a reorganization at the company’s largest distribution center, leading to a multi-million dollar savings for the company.  Most recently, Turrieta was Southwest Zone Warehouse Manager at Nestle Water.  In just five weeks, he was able to turn a historically underperforming division into the highest performing division in the nation with a 98.5% accuracy rate.

Turrieta earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from University of Phoenix.

McDermott & Bull Recruits Vice President of Marketing for QSC Audio

Humphrey has a unique technical systems engineering background, and spent the last 15 years as a hands-on marketing leader within technology companies.  Early in his career, Humphrey oversaw all European product marketing at Tyco, followed by four years with three different VC-backed technology businesses, in both hardware and software.  In 2003, he joined Lantronix as the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, where he oversaw worldwide marketing and sales initiatives.  Between 2007 and 2013, Humphrey worked with Honeywell on audio communication solutions and ran corporate marketing at QLogic.  Most recently, Humphrey served as the Vice President of Marketing for Maxwell Technologies, a publicly traded global manufacturer of ultra-capacitors.

Humphrey earned a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering & Theatre/Writing at the University of California, San Diego.
